Interview

Can you tell us a bit about yourself? What inspired you to share your academic journey on social media?

I’m a recent medical school graduate — medicine has always been my dream since I was a child. But when I started university, I quickly realized it would be harder than I imagined. The first years were particularly challenging, especially because there wasn’t much mutual support among classmates. That’s what pushed me to share my journey on social media: I wanted other students to know they’re not alone, that struggles are part of the process, and that we can overcome them together.

What are the biggest challenges when studying for medical exams, and how do you handle them?

The hardest part is definitely the sheer amount of information you have to memorize for each exam. On top of that, every subject has its own specific quirks and demands. Over time, I developed my own method: repetition is the real “secret” that helps me keep up and avoid getting overwhelmed.

❛❛ With Dende, I found a new method that allows me to study more actively ❜❜

When and how did you discover Dende?

I discovered it in my sixth year of university, right when I was preparing for a midterm in Pediatrics. One day during a study break, I saw a video from a classmate — someone I really admired — talking about Dende. Out of curiosity, I decided to try it to prepare for the exam, and I was honestly impressed.

Which Dende features do you use most, and why?

I use the quizzes the most — they help me stay focused and prevent me from skipping over topics I might otherwise miss when reading passively. I also rely heavily on flashcards during final reviews: they help me memorize and revise key concepts quickly.

How did Dende change the way you study?

Before discovering Dende, I used to spend hours reading and trying to memorize things passively. With Dende, I found a new, more active way to study. The quizzes keep me engaged and make it easier to concentrate, which has led to real improvements. Now, I don’t just memorize — I actually understand what I’m studying.

Can you give us a concrete example of how Dende helped you understand a topic better?

While preparing for my Infectious Diseases exam, I realized that Dende helped me not just remember the diseases, but also understand the differences and connections between them. The daily practice — especially reviewing the questions I got wrong — was like mental training. It really helped me develop my clinical reasoning skills.

Was there a particularly tough exam for you? What made it difficult, and how did you manage to get through it with Dende?

Hygiene was one of the toughest medical exams for me, mainly because it was very theory-heavy. At first, just reading and trying to memorize all the facts felt overwhelming. But with Dende’s flashcards, I was able to go over the material more dynamically — even repeating out loud what I was writing down — and that really helped solidify the content.

Do you have a specific study routine? How do you incorporate Dende into your daily schedule?

I usually divide my study day into two parts: the first part is for reading and taking notes, and the second part is for review and practice. Dende plays a key role in the review phase, thanks to the quizzes and summaries I can tailor to each exam. I use it every day to save time and make my study sessions more effective.

Which Dende feature surprised you the most?

What surprised me most is how well Dende adapts to my level. It doesn’t give me questions that are too hard or too easy — it adjusts intelligently based on the areas where I need the most support. Plus, the option to personalize the content depending on the exam is really helpful for time management.

If you had to describe Dende in three words, what would they be?

Useful, simple, fast.

What would you say to a student who’s never tried Dende?

No need for big words. As a student, I know how easy it is to feel overwhelmed. There were times I wish someone had told me about Dende earlier — it would’ve made things so much easier. Trying it costs nothing, and it might end up helping you more than you think.
